No one could deny the increasing interest and enthusiasm over the years to move away from traditional shoes to keeping a horse barefoot.  This is only natural.

Hoof care professionals have learned there is a geometric pattern with every horses hoof and if we trim within these parameters the hoof takes on the function for which it was designed. 

The hoof markups apply these proven techniques to photographs and/or radiographs submitted by email.  I request numerous angles of the hoof & limb, body shots along with a completed case history for each new client.

The photo's are carefully analyzed to form an opinion as to the best way to proceed with the rehabilitation of your horses hoof.  Whether your concern is for performance enhancement or a serious condition the benefits of utilizing a hoof markup is a powerful tool. 

Most of my clients are owners who have never trimmed before or have little trim experience.  Hoof markups help a beginner or professional trimmer identify the mechanical defecits to the hoof so they can be addressed.   

I provide you with detailed diagrams that clearly point out landmarks on the hoof to establish a balanced trim.  Each Hoof markup also provides written instruction to explain how to accomplish our goal and the reason behind it. 

If further explanation is required I have a step by step, Field Guide available to assist in better understanding how to proceed with applying these techniques when your standing next to your horse wondering where to begin.

Limited e-mail support is offered, at this time, to be sure the instructions are clear and answer any questions or concerns you might have.  If additional assistance is required there would be a separate $25.00 per hour consultation fee.

As with anything that is alive the hoof will begin to transform before your eyes.  The changes might occur daily until the hoof  function is restored and is able to maintain it's new form.  This would mean we will adjust our trim plan as the hoof dictates.  It's important at this time, for both you & your horse, that there be follow up analysis to the trim to ensure your efforts are accomplished in a timely manner.

This is a journey where we learn from one another with the horse being our greatest teacher.
